Hi...
Who am I?
This is a question we all probably wrestle with from time to time: Who am I? I don’t just want to be my profession, or a wife to my husband and mother to my children. Surely, we are all more than that. Who am I when all of that is stripped away? Then I am just me. But the most important thing that defines me is who I am in Christ – and that is a child of God.
I’m content to stop there.
That is who Janine is – a child of God. I gladly share the hope that lives within me because the Lord has also given me a second chance.

Wie is ek?
Ek wil nie net my beroep wees of vrou vir my man en ma vir my kinders nie. Ons is tog seker almal meer as dit. Wie is ek as dit alles van my gestroop word?

For a little more background:
I have been married to Jimmy Manders for 29 years. We have two children – Thomas (24 years old) and Timonè (21 years old).
I have been in ministry for 29 years. For almost five years, I had the privilege of handling a weekly column for Vrouekeur. This made me fall in love with writing, although I would not consider myself a writer. I enjoy always searching for words and stories that can inspire, uplift, and give hope. My main source of inspiration is the Bible, so luckily the source is inexhaustible. I gladly share words of hope and inspiration at schools and women’s gatherings or wherever I am invited to speak. I have been privileged to lead services and morning and evening devotions on RSG and Pretoria FM. I also offer women’s camps and retreats. I want to inspire people, not necessarily motivate them. I get excited about people who are positive and enthusiastic, who realize that it is each of our responsibilities to make the world around us a better place.

My motto is: “If you can’t do great things; do small things in a great way.”
